Saturday April 23, 2011

What a great lazy Saturday. I hardly did anything productive. :) This feels kinda weird not having anything to do. I called my mom this morning and she asked me what I was doing today and I said, "absolutley nothing." I haven't said that in a LONG time.
So, I have some pretty awesome roommates. They give me ideas to do things or introduce me to lottsa good stuff. One was listening to this song called Terrified and I loved it so I kinda took it and have been listening to it for the last couple days. Then another roommate has been getting Bountiful Baskets so this week I decided that I need to really start eating healthier. We'll see how long this lasts.... I did get plenty of veggies today because I cooked some of the stuff up for lunch and went over to Hannah's for dinner and had asparagus and broccoli, but then probably ruined all the healthiness (if that's a word) and had ice cream. Anyways here's to a day with nothing productive done.
Here are the fruits and veggies I got.
Ok, So I didn't really have an unproductive day I did make my bed, cooked, (one of my roommates said she'd never seen me cook before. That's a sad story. I do cook just when she's at work :)) did dishes, went to the gym and I have a clean room. I also hung out with my favorite little sister and then after dinner we watched The Social Network :)

Frustration=disappointing...People are so frustrating!!
There are those people who are so easy to get a long with but why is it that there are some people who just drive me crazy!? I think I really need to get out of Cedar.(not saying any names) Some people you are so nice to and no matter what you do they still are the biggest jerks. (As bad as it may be I know I am on some peoples' lists of one of those frustrating people). But anyways I guess I'm a control freak and if things don't go the way I think they should I get pretty frustrated. Not only in others but myself.
Something I want to do, circumvent, bypass or avoid others. That's why it's Friday night and I'm sitting here at 11:30.

Time to count my blessings now...
Here's the good stuff...Today was spectacular. I love my job! I love it when kids say the silliest things, when I get a dozen hugs a day and knowing at least someone likes me. Today we went to the park and just being there playing with the kids and watching other kids play, laugh and smile hit the spot! I can't wait to have my own kids to take to a park. I'm sure it will be 100 times better.
Other things that were good today
  • Slept in untill 8:00 and just took my time till 9:00 to go to the gym with Hannah
  • Had a good start of the day with cereal and chocolate milk :) I didn't have any regular milk
  • The Gym
  • Got my car paid for and it was cheaper than what I was expecting. I hate having car problems. It just needed a new battery (Thanks Tyson)
  • Got my hair fixed. I love it. (note to self NEVER get a stack EVER again)
  • Went to work at 12:30 :) And got a nice sunburn at the park. I love the SUNSHINE!!
  • Hannah made cinnamon rolls and brought me some when I got off work. They were yummy THANKS!
  • Watched a good movie...I didn't fall asleep so it had to be a good movie. Watched Morning Glory
  • My laundry is ALL done! Clean toilet and NO dirty dishes.
  • Finished Alma and now on to Helaman. :) I'm going to finish the Book of Mormon by the end of the month!
  • Lastly if I do have a really bad day there is ice cream in the freezer.
  • Life is good!

Sunday thoughts...

This man is amazing...we could all learn so much from him.
Yup, I'm at work...There is only so much that you can do here...I've been thinking about so much stuff and hopefully if I can just get it all down then maybe it'll help me to just think things through. At church today we had someone talk about Elder Uchtdorf's talk last October. I remember listening to it when he gave it. I usually write notes and that was one of the talks that I actually wrote a ton for. I just love his talks and his stories!

Hearing the stuff again made me realize it was something that I really needed to hear today. I need to SLOW DOWN and FOCUS on what really matters instead of always go go go. I am always so stinkin' busy and forget what's really important. That's probably one of the reasons I suck at any relationship I have. (especially with men) I do really well for awhile then it's like I drop off the face of the earth and no one hears from me for a while. Any ways he asks the question...What is the most important thing in this life...and it's RELATIONSHIPS...yup, the one thing that I can't do or run from. To get down to the meat there are 4 kinds of relationships we (I) should have...and DEFINITELY need to work on.
  1. Relationship with Heavenly Father....we need to be still and listen to him! Take time for him each day.
  2. Families...this should be your highest priority. TIME = LOVE. Do the simple things together. Those are the ones that matter most.
  3. Fellow men... Serve others and do it one person at a time. This is how you learn to love your neighbors
  4. Ourselves....Some people can't get a long with themselves and we or (I) need to learn to see myself the way that Heavenly Father does.
I'm glad that I'm done with school for now so that hopefully I can focus on these 4 things...Life is still going to be pretty crazy with work and everything else...I have a lot that I want to get done but that'll be another list for another day when I'm just sittin here at work. :) I just need to rememeber to SLOW down and not put so much on my plate like I have been.

Just going back a couple weeks...

Here's Katelee and I. I got to see her again this last weekend and she is SO stinkin cute. I love babies at this age. This was her and I with the little Tu-Tu I made for her for her birthday.
Yeah I know I'm not looking and have red eyes but these are 2 of my favorite people. We're at the cheer review to watch  Jared because he escorted Amber.

Thoughts/Week

I'm at work again with not much to do...This whole blogging thing is actually kinda silly to me now but I really need to have some type of journal so this blog will hopefully help out in the long run. I want to be able to remember things and I usually just have a good memory but unfortunately I'm getting old. :) So here goes....If you want to read my "journal" then I guess it's ok, because I'm putting everything online. You should feel bad for reading "my journal" though :) Just kiddin! But I can guarantee it's not very exciting.
So here's what happened this week....
Monday:
I had been down in Mesquite for the Clark County Fair. Jared showed a steer and I stayed because I had a dentist/orthodontist appointment. Really it's a waste of time for the most part. They usually just look in my mouth see how my teeth are progressing and give me my trays for the next 6 weeks. And guess what....They gave me my last 3 trays! So the next time I go in I'll be ALL DONE with my invisalign treatment. I sure hope my teeth will be done and everything looks good. I came back up to Cedar and luckly didn't have work so I went to the library to work on my resume and credential file. Went to the gym and ran a couple miles. I think that's it...I can't remember anymore what happened.
Tuesday:
I subbed 6th grade again. I always thought that I would only like the early childhood grades (K-2) but I really like 6th grade. This was my second time subbing them and kids are kids. I love them all! During lunch and after school I talked with some of the other student teachers this semester. (We got recruited by SUU, because we had a deal that we wouldn't have to turn in our E-portfoio if we subbed 2 days for free while the 6th grade teachers went to training) Anyways, I was talking to them and just talking to someone that knows EXACTLY how you are feeling is SO GOOD! They understand EVERYTHING! One girl in particular, just made me feel so much better! I just don't know what I want to do with my life. Yeah, I want to teach but the when and where part is not so clear. After that I went to work at Discovery until about 8. Right after that I went to Bishop's office because he had called about getting everything ready for our ward closing social and they wanted to give me the list of food to pick up for it. I also needed to have my interview for Institute graduation. We just pretty much talked because I just had an interview because I had my temple recommend renewed a couple weeks ago for baptisms. Then right after that I went to work at 10 to the call center.
Wednesday:
I actually came home and slept for 2 hours and then went to work at Discovery Clubhouse till about 5. Went to the library and finished my credential file, resume, and application for Iron County. Something else was going on but I can't remember.
Thursday:
Went to the gym...I want to run a 5K soon but need to first get into shape! I turned in my teaching application for Iron County....Hope I at least get an interview. I also got a call to go sub the class I student taught in 1st grade but had to turn it down because I had other things already to do, and I didn't want to switch everything around. I had a meeting with my student teaching supervisor at 9:30. Last week I turned in my TWS and she wanted me to fix a couple things...they were just spelling errors that spell check didn't catch because they were real words like I had one instead of on and stuff like that. Then work at 10. I did the kindergarten run and picked up the kids...Oh, I miss my kindergartners. I never thought I would say this because they were crazy and 28 kids does get to be exhausting.I saw these kids when I went to pick up to kids that go to daycare and wish I still got to see them all everyday.
The kindergartners that I taught...

This was the first week in March for Dr. Suess Day. All the kid got to read in the hall. They thought it was so cool!

So at 1:00 I had a break from work and I went and got my credential file copied to bring up to the District Office. And Tyrel was in town for his school's orchestra so it was good to get to see him for a little bit. Then I went back to work till about 4ish. It was so weird that I didn't have anything to do for awhile...it was a weird feeling. Tyson took my car to fix my breaks...(he's such a good brother in law) Then I started eating dinner and Casen called me to go get something to eat but I was already eating, so we just talked for a bit till I had Relief Society Night Meeting...we went to a dance studio and did Zumba. Then after that Casen came back over and we made a smoothie and at 10 I went to work (that's when I started this thing)
Friday:
Went to a Yard Sale that a lady that I know from the SUU preschool was having. She's retired now and was getting rid of all her school stuff. So I got a couple good games and books! I was pretty happy with what I got and for the price!
Here are 5 of the books I got out of 30 or so!

I went and showed the things I fixed for my TWS and got full points on it! YIPEE! Went to work till 8 and then did the grocery shopping for the ward. 2 hours later and about $200 dollars later we were finally done. I have NEVER spent that much money on food! I usually feel bad when I spend $50 and that's after not being to the store for like a month!
Saturday:
Went to the gym with Hannah and did Zumba...stupid me... I wanted to go run a couple miles after but a lady started to talk to me and I guess I just stood there too long and started to feel a little dizzy. After the lady FINALLY left or got done I tried to walk and get a drink but started to black out...that hasn't happened for a long time. When you know your eyes are open but you can't see anything and feel like you're gonna fall over. Well I sat down and put my head between my legs for a minute and felt better and went home. I should have eaten something before I left. Yeah, stupid huh. Then I drove some girls out to our Bishop's Cabin for the social. We made tin foil dinners...and had a bunch of good food. A couple of us came back early because of work and here I am....
That was my week...

Just at work with NOTHING to do...

Okay, so for the past 4 months I have been BUSY BUSY...and when I say BUSY I mean it. I was student teaching everyday 8-4 and also working at least another 30 hours or so. That's not counting writing lesson plans or preparing and planning with my mentor teachers. And lastly having a boyfriend (those guys take up so much time) Haha... I did like him but things just weren't working out. Now, I'm done student teaching. I'm done with my 51 page Teacher Work Sample and I have my credential file in. I applied for my "first" real job today for Iron County School District...WAHOO! I also have an interview with Carbon County on the 26th. Even though I know I could be doing a hundred other things I decided while I have about 8 hours of nothing that absolutely needs to be done for tomorrow I should start a blog while I'm at work. Even though I don't have a husband or a cute little family to blog about I thought I'd do this because 1. I need to remember what I do. I haven't been very diligent with my journal. 2. It's something to occupy my time. 3. I don't have any other reasons. I guess this is just for fun. Oh, wait... I guess I would like to make a cool scrapbook out of it one day so I can show my kids (if I ever get there) how life was way back when! :)
